“Trickster's Queen” by Tamora Pierce. Have any of you read Alanna by Tamora Pierce? Then you know what a strong woman she is. Well, this is the story of her daughter. Can you imagine trying to make a name for yourself when you have a mother as strong as Alanna? Aly is 16 and wants to follow in her father's footsteps by being a spy. In the first book, Trickster's Choice, Aly runs away when they won't let her and is captured and put into slavery in the Copper Isles.

In this book, Aly's adventure continues. She is no longer a slave; she is now spying as part of an underground rebellion against the colonial rulers of the Copper Isles. The people in the rebellion believe that a prophecy - that a new queen will rise up to take the throne - is about to be realized. Aly is busy keeping the potential teenage queen and her younger siblings safe, while also keeping her past a secret. But Aly, who is usually adept at anticipating danger and changes, is in for a few nasty surprises.
