The people are Arthus (not from the first book) and Gehn, his father. The villain is the father who takes the son into the D'ni underground realm and is taken to help to make ages for the father. They start in Age 37 and then to Age 5. The ages are now more complex and they now contain people. The end of the book gives the name of the books, as that is the name of the final age.
