Two Books In One

“A Widow For One Year” by John Irving. Hands down one of the most thought-provoking novels I've ever read about a dad and a daughter, "A Widow For One Year" is split into two equally compelling halves: the first half (made into a movie "The Door In The Floor") focuses on womanizing children's book writer Ted Cole when his daughter Ruth is a child. Later, it focuses on the adult Ruth grappling with the complicated fallout of being her father's daughter.
